We are currently seeking a Technology (Low Voltage) Designer to support the Technology group within our Lakewood, Colorado office. Our growing, fast-paced, multi-disciplined engineering team is seeking a client focused, highly motivated, organized, and outgoing designer looking to expand his/her technical and management skills. As such, we are looking for candidates with technology design backgrounds, who are able to employ areas of technical strength while also growing their skill set in other technical disciplines and management.

The Technology Group is a specialized group of individuals responsible for design and consulting services related to telecommunications infrastructure including structured cabling, television, security, audio-visual, sound, and other specialty systems for a variety of project types including Commercial, Education, Government, Healthcare, and Science and Technology.

This individual will be responsible for performing and overseeing the work committed to in proposals and will perform and lead the appropriate resources to do the work for each discipline area. This ideal candidate will assist Project Managers by providing design resources to help meet the client’s desires and budget. Duties would also include involvement with technology systems sales efforts for multidiscipline projects, as well as providing the design/engineering resources and guidance to accomplish our commitments.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical design for discipline area.
  • Peer review project work for the discipline area.
  • Work with team members in establishing/improving standards for discipline area.
  • Adherence to project design schedules.
  • Adherence to discipline project budgets.
  • Attention to project scope details during the design process to identify potential additional services.
  • Provide general updates of projects (status in the process, tasks to complete, percentage complete, etc.)
  • Identify milestone dates when each discipline should provide appropriate technical information to allow sufficient time for good design coordination.
  • Provide 'on-the-spot' technical recommendations and associated opinions of probable cost.
  • Coordinate with all project disciplines involved, including outside consultants.

Required Skills & Required Experience:
  • College degree preferred but years of experience may substitute for a degree.
  • CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification required
  • RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution) certification preferred
  • Accomplished (7+ years of experience) in technology (low voltage) systems including:
    • Structured cabling
    • Telecommunications
    • Television
    • Security
    • Audio/Visual
    • Overhead Paging
    • Nurse Call
    • Real Time Locating
    • Distributed Antenna/Emergency Responder Radio
    • Clock
  • Experience in the following systems and services a plus:
    • Wireless Network
    • Emergency Communication
    • Infant Protection/Patient Wander
    • OR AV Integration
    • Wayfinding
    • Digital Signage
    • Services Provider Provisioning
    • IT Device Support
    • Knowledge of the design and construction process
    • Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills
    • Experience in the design of low voltage systems, and an understanding of document preparation utilizing a BIM/Revit platform
    • Well organized with the ability to take detailed notes
    • Strong conceptual understanding of low voltage systems with general knowledge of system operation, space requirements, and cost

A salary range is anticipated to be within a range $95,000 - $120,000 for a minimum of seven years of experience and is based upon multiple factors including level of experience, years of experience, professional registrations and applicant knowledge, skills, and abilities. Benefits include insurance benefits, paid holidays, and paid time off as well as a company sponsored 401k plan.
